ZOOM Whitening & Teeth Whitening
White teeth are attractive teeth - and a brilliant white smile can give you new found confidence.
But not everyone has naturally white teeth and others have teeth which have become stained over the years.
With the ZOOM Professional Teeth Whitening treatment, whitening teeth is simple and can make your teeth an average of eight shades whiter in about an hour. Around 50% of patients reach B1 shade which is the brightest shade on a conventional tooth shade chart. This is the laser teeth whitening procedure that people often refer to. First you'll have a consultation to answer all your questions, then we will examine your teeth and gums to make sure they're healthy and ready to be whitened.
A gentle hydrogen-peroxide teeth whitening gel activated by a special, patented light operating in the blue spectrum is used. After the procedure, a whitening tray is provided for those that would like to take it that little bit further or it can be used a touch up kit.
For a small number of patients who are highly sensitive to the tooth whitening gel, there can be tingling or slight pain. We will normally determine this at the consultation appointment and provide analgesics prior to treatment. At the end of treatment, a desensitising gel is provided and can be placed into the whitening trays. At Cosmic Smile Dental, all ZOOM! patients are automatically enrolled into our Whitening for Life program where we give you whitening gel at your periodic recall appointments for no charge for as long as you are a patient! See our Whitening Special Offers! Tray Whitening A whitening gel is placed in a whitening tray for an hour, once or twice a day for seven to ten days. This treatment can be as effective as ZOOM whitening but is done in the privacy of your own home. The best way to take advantage of tray whitening would be to enrol into our Whitening for Life program where we give you whitening gel at your periodic recall appointments for no charge for as long as you are a patient! For a small number of patients who are highly sensitive to the whitening gel, there can be tingling or slight pain. In these cases, we recommend that the trays be worn for a comfortable period and build up to an hour if possible. Trays can be used every other day or a desensitising agent placed into the trays immediately after each whitening session. Additional whitening gel will be provided until the desired result is achieved.
